Sally Ash tells BaNES liveaboard boaters are forcing out leisure users

A Freedom of Information request has revealed that a meeting took place between CRT and BaNES on 2oth March this year in connection with the Council’s assessment of the inclusion of boat dwellers in its Gypsy, Traveller and Housing Strategy. Reportedly some of the BaNES representatives present were not impressed with CRT.

CRT advisory group supports K&A mooring strategy

We are now able to report that the CRT Navigation Advisory Group has given its wholehearted support to the Local Mooring Strategy that was finalised by the Kennet and Avon Local Waterway Partnership in April.

Boaters’ Collective Meeting on Grand Union

From Grand Union Boaters discussing CRT plans for the Southern Grand Union including Roving Mooring Permits and the recent mooring restrictions. Meeting tonight if any boaters are in the area.

“We have organised our first collective boaters meeting for the 12th
June, where the above points are to be discussed. None of us are sure
what to expect, but a number of external people have also been invited
to give small talks on issues. It was suggested that I contact the
Kennet & Avon community to offer an invite to any members that may be
in the area at the time (the meeting will take place at Bletchley
(Fenny Stratford end), Milton Keynes. Boats from Tring to Milton
Keynes have been notified as best we could.

Masonic Centre, rear of 263 Queensway, Bletchley, Milton Keynes MK2 2BZ

Doors open from 6pm, meeting start 7pm; 12th June, 2013

CRT delay consideration of local mooring strategy while setting up Roving Mooring Permits on GU

Consideration by CRT’s Navigation Advisory Group of the Local Mooring Strategy that was finalised by the Kennet and Avon Local Waterway Partnership has been unnacountably delayed. The Mooring Strategy was to be considered by the Navigation Advisory Group (NAG) on 24th April. However, it appears that CRT cancelled this meeting with no explanation and it is not known when the Navigation Advisory group will meet next.
