Waterway Partnership AGM reveals anti-liveaboard bias

A member of the Kennet and Avon Local Waterway Partnership told a liveaboard boater to “shut up” during the Partnership’s Annual Public Meeting on 12th November. Alan Aldous, an IWA member who sits on the Partnership because of his experience as a riparian landowner, later refused to apologise.

Liveaboard boaters encouraged to apply for outreach job

Julian House in Bath is recruiting two part-time Outreach and Engagement Workers to improve access to health and social care for Gypsies, Travellers and Boat Dwellers. The closing date is 21st November. This is a new project, funded by the NHS in BaNES, that is the result of the 2012 health survey of boaters and travellers that some boaters took part in.
