Boaters’ towpath tidy, Semington to Hilperton, 11th February

Liveaboard boaters are organising a towpath tidy between Semington and Hilperton on Sunday 11th February 2018. Everyone is welcome. Please join us at the canal bridge at Semington (160) at 11.30 am for an 11.45 am start. We aim to litterpick between Seend Park swing bridge (155) and Hilperton Marina. This is around a 3.5 mile stretch so we will need lots of people!

Please bring work gloves and wheelbarrows if you have them; some barrows will be provided. You will probably need warm clothes, a drink and some food. We aim to finish around 3.00 pm, though a well-earned drink in a local pub afterwards is obviously an option. We look forward to seeing you on the 11th February.

We have asked CRT to deliver a skip to a convenient location along the stretch, so that we can offload the rubbish we collect, but also for boaters to offload any bulky rubbish of their own. CRT has provided several skips at different places on the K&A in the last two years; this was agreed with the K&A Manager Mark Evans following discussions with liveaboard boaters.
