BW contracts out enforcement to parking company

We can’t name the source of this information but we believe that BW is sub-contracting part of its enforcement activity to a parking and clamping company.

Such companies are in dire need of extra income now that clamping vehicles on private land is no longer legal. According to our contact, the company held a training course in Bristol in mid-March to train its employees to patrol the canals. We assume that the company’s employees will be doing a similar job to the boat checkers; our informant told us that they would be “enforcing the 14-day rule” and that the company already had a similar contract that had recently started in the Birmingham area.
