Help track down pollution on the Kennet

Action for the River Kennet (ARK) has appealed for help in tracking down what appears to be a rogue tanker operator discharging unknown substances in to the upper Kennet. They ask that if you see suspicious tanker activity please:

1. Call 0800 807060 as soon as possible with as much detail as you can. This is the Environment Agency (EA) Incident Report Hotline.
2. Take a photo if you are not putting yourself at risk by doing so.
3. Phone or email ARK and they will follow it up with the EA to ensure it gets dealt with: either email info@riverkennet.org or phone 01672 513672. The EA only take first hand reports seriously, in other words the person who saw the incident must report it themselves. Only incidents reported on 0800 807060 can be dealt with by the Environmental Crime Team. If it’s not reported to the hotline, the EA can’t take action.
