Join the replica working boat and help us on 13th November towpath tidy

Everyone is welcome to join us on a Towpath Tidy on Saturday 13th November. Meet at 11am outside the Canal Tavern in Bradford on Avon. We plan to tidy the towpath between Bradford on Avon and Dundas. There will be a work boat to carry the rubbish. This boat is Ishtar, the first Bradford Star Class traditional working boat.

Bring protective gloves, a wheelbarrow, a bike trailer or a boathook if you have them. We will provide bin bags, litter picking spikes and some extra gloves. There will be handwashing facilities provided at Dundas. All towpath users are welcome to join in.

To add to our list of historic boats and boatbuilders along the K and A would it be possible for you to please let us know when and by whom Ishtar was built and any other details you might have. This type of information all helps towards building up a fuller history of the canal as we do get requests for information about boats as well as many other queries. If anyone has any queries about the history of the K and A please email kamuseumandarch@yahoo.co.uk and we will do our best to answer.
Thank you. Elaine and the Archive Team.
