The consultation by CRT on the Towpath Mooring Plan for the K&A between Bath top lock and Devizes has started. Meetings organised by boaters for boaters to discuss this and answer any questions you have about the Mooring Plan, consultation and questionnaire will be held at:
2nd October 2013 7.30pm, Devizes, The Lamb, 20 St Johns Street (upstairs)
7th October 2013 7.30pm, Bradford on Avon, Canal Tavern, below Bradford Lock
8th October 2013 7.30pm, Bath, The Crown Inn, 23 Bathwick Street
If you live aboard, this concerns your home. The proposals will restrict towpath mooring for boaters without home moorings (continuous cruisers). The finalised Plan will be binding on boaters through the Terms and Conditions of the boat licence.
The consultation runs from 30th August to 29th November 2013. You can read a paper copy of the Towpath Mooring Plan and get a copy of the consultation questionnaire from The Raft café boat in Bathampton and the K&A Trust cafés at Bradford lock, Caen Hill, Devizes Wharf, Newbury Stone Building and Aldermaston Wharf.
CRT has sent paper copies by post to boaters whose boats have been sighted on the K&A in the past year, so check your post. One paper copy has been sent per boat, so if two people live on a boat, one of them will need an extra copy – you can photocopy it if you wish. If CRT has your email address you will have been sent an online consultation via www.surveymonkey.com. It is much easier for CRT to get the answers they want from an online survey, so we recommend filling in the paper questionnaire, that way you will have as much time to think about your answers as you need.
If you have any problems getting a paper copy of the consultation questionnaire or the Towpath Mooring Plan, the consultation is being run by CRT’s new Boating Liaison Manager, Matthew Symonds, firstname.lastname@example.org or 07825 227951
For more information about the boaters meetings, contact us on 07928 078208 or email@example.com We can also photocopy a paper version of the consultation questionnaire for you if you don’t want to contact CRT.
