The consultation on the local mooring strategy for the Kennet and Avon west of Devizes will run from today Friday 30th August 2013 until Friday 29th November 2013. Electronic copies of the consultation response form will be sent to all holders of boat licences who are on the K&A where CRT holds their email address. Where no email contact exists CRT has agreed to send a paper copy to the address that you use for your boat licence. If you don’t receive a copy, paper copies will also be available from the following places: The Raft cafe boat at Bathampton Wharf; the K&A Trust cafe at Bradford on Avon lock; the K&A Trust cafe upstairs at Devizes wharf; the K&A Trust cafe in the Stone Building, Town Wharf, Newbury and the K&A Trust cafe at Aldermaston wharf (just east of the lift bridge).
This consultation directly affects all liveaboard boaters on the K&A, especially those with no home mooring, so it’s important that you have your say. There will be several meetings organised by boaters for boaters to discuss how we respond, so look out for them in a few weeks’ time and make sure to come along.
The consultation asks for your views on the Towpath Mooring Plan for the Kennet and Avon Canal west of Devizes published by the K&A Local Waterway Partnership. As far as we know, this document will not be included in the paper version of the consultation but will be available online. It was published on this web site in April 2013. To read it see http://kanda.boatingcommunity.org.uk/local-mooring-strategy-finalised/
We will publish the consultation document as soon as we receive it.
