Spate of boat burglaries on K&A

In the week to 22nd April 2016 at least five boats on the K&A, at Pewsey and Hilperton, have been broken into. The modus operandi of the thief is very similar to that of Allan Campbell who was jailed in 2013 for a series of boat burglaries on the K&A and elsewhere. Lincolnshire Police recently appealed for information about the whereabouts of 42-year-old Campbell who they said was wanted for recall to prison to complete his sentence. They believe he is travelling along the waterways and the Police also say he is known to use dating web sites to meet women in order to find places to stay.

Police are linking the recent boat break-ins in which the thief broke padlocks and stole a variety of property such as alcohol and a phone. When Campbell stole from boats on the K&A in 2013 he was known to travel by train and on stolen bicycles, and he often stole food and drink as well as valuables.

You can phone the Police on 101 or if a crime is being committed call 999.
