K&A Boaters’ Action Group, 12th August, Honeystreet

The next meeting of the K&A Boaters’ Action Group will be on Monday 12th August 2019 at 7.30pm at the newly-reopened Barge Inn, Honeystreet, SN9 5PS (in the snug bar). All are welcome. The meeting will focus on CRT’s proposals for additional enforcement on the K&A aimed mainly at hire boaters, but which are also likely to impact on liveaboards.

River Avon Users Consultative Committee to re-launch this month

The River Avon Users Consultative Committee (RAUCC) is to re-launch this month with an amended membership policy which the RUACC says is to ensure that meetings remain manageable and represent a balance of interests. Membership will be restricted to one representative per group or organisation.

The Kennet and Avon Boaters’ Action Group has been invited to send a representative to the RUACC. If you travel on the River Avon and you would like to represent the group, please contact info@boatingcommunity.org.uk or 07928 078208.

Wadworths make boaters an offer of new bins at Horton

Following the announcement that boaters would hand in the 400-signature petition to Wadworths Brewery in a demonstration on 9th January, Wadworths contacted one of the boaters who earlier complained about the removal of the bins at the Bridge Inn, Horton.

Come to the meeting if you want to raise matters that you think boaters should be taking action about, or if you need any information about CRT enforcement against boaters without home moorings or if you need advice about CRT enforcement letters, texts or emails.

Wadworths refuse to re-instate Horton Bridge bins – please sign petition!

The Chief Executive of Wadworths Brewery, Chris Welham, has refused to re-instate the boaters’ rubbish bins at the Bridge Inn, Horton following a complaint. Boaters have now started an online petition calling on both Wadworths and Canal & River Trust to re-instate the bins.
