The K&A Boaters’ Action Group meeting that was due to take place on 20th April 2020, has been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic and the closure of canalside pubs for the duration of the lockdown. The next Boaters’ Action Group meeting, scheduled for 8th June, may take place depending on the lockdown situation.

There will be a boaters’ meeting next Tuesday 28th January to discuss what the options are for the liveaboard community now that BaNES Council has voted to remove the only 14-day moorings on the River Avon. The meeting is at 7pm on Tuesday 28th January 2020 at the George Inn, Mill Lane, Bathampton BA2 6TR.

All are welcome. The meeting will focus on action against CRT enforcement and an update on CRT plans for the K&A.

The meeting will focus on CRT’s proposals for additional enforcement on the K&A aimed mainly at hire boaters, but which are also likely to impact on liveaboards.

There will be a Kennet and Avon Canal User Group Forum on Wednesday 5th June 2019 between 6pm and 8pm at St Margaret’s Hall, St Margaret’s Street, Bradford on Avon, BA15 1DE. If you wish to raise any issues about enforcement, waterway maintenance, facilities for boaters or other matters, this meeting is an opportunity to do so. It is an open meeting and all waterway users are entitled to attend.
