Boat Fire Safety Talk, Honeystreet, 14th November

There will be a Boat Fire Safety talk on Thursday 14th November 2019 at 6.30pm at the Barge Inn, Honeystreet, SN9 5PS. Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service will be giving out free fire and CO alarms. More Boat Fire Safety talks are planned.

Please try and get to one of these – don’t become a statistic – according to the Fire Service, a massive 28% of boat fires cause fatalities. Don’t let this happen to you, come and find out how to prevent fire hazards on your boat.

The Barge Inn is also a collection point for Boat Fire Safety Packs including free smoke and CO detectors, so pop into the pub and get one if you can’t come on the 14th.

The Fire Safety sessions are organised by Julian House Travelling Communities Support Service in conjunction with Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service. The Fire Service will continue to offer fire safety advice on the towpath or you can request a free boat fire safety visit.

You can contact the Travelling Communities Support Service on 07960 097719 or email alice.young@julianhouse.org.uk

If you would like a free Fire Safety check on your boat, contact the Fire and Rescue Service and ask for a home visit – see https://www.dwfire.org.uk/ or call 0800 038 2323.
