CRT has reneged on the agreement that it made in May 2019 with boaters and Wadworths Brewery to re-instate the boaters’ rubbish bins at the Bridge Inn, Horton, near Devizes.
In December 2019, fourteen boaters sent a complaint to Acting Regional Director Jon Horsfall that no progress had been made on constructing the proposed new bin site at the pub and also that the water tap at the Bridge Inn had been out of service since November 2019.

Following the announcement that boaters would hand in the 400-signature petition to Wadworths Brewery in a demonstration on 9th January, Wadworths contacted one of the boaters who earlier complained about the removal of the bins at the Bridge Inn, Horton.

On Wednesday 9th January 2019 at 12pm to 2pm there will be a demonstration outside Wadworths Brewery, 41-45 Northgate Street, Devizes SN10 1JW to hand in the petition calling for CRT and Wadworths to re-instate the boaters’ rubbish bins at the Bridge Inn, Horton.

The Chief Executive of Wadworths Brewery, Chris Welham, has refused to re-instate the boaters’ rubbish bins at the Bridge Inn, Horton following a complaint. Boaters have now started an online petition calling on both Wadworths and Canal & River Trust to re-instate the bins.
