Liveaboard boaters invited to comment on Seend Parish Plan by March 28th

Seend Parish Council has invited the liveaboard boating community to comment on its draft neighbourhood plan. The Plan includes a section on the Kennet and Avon Canal (Policy SP7, Section 5.2, page 36). The deadline for comments is 28th March 2020.

Boaters invited to K&A Canal East meeting, 1st June, Wootton Rivers

Liveaboard boaters are invited to the Kennet & Avon Canal East Meeting on 1st June 2017 at 6pm for 6.30pm at Wootton Rivers Village Hall. These twice-yearly meetings were set up by Pewsey Community Area Partnership in 2014 to discuss and resolve issues regarding the K&A Canal that affected boaters and local residents in the villages along the canal.

Boaters needed to attend Pewsey area Canal Forum, 23rd November

There will be a Canal Forum meeting between local residents and Parish Councils in the Pewsey area and boaters next Wednesday 23rd November 2016 at Stanton St Bernard Village Hall at 5.30pm for a 6pm start. This is a continuation of the previous meetings in 2014 and 2015 chaired by CRT in the Pewsey Vale to resolve issues between local residents and canal users, especially liveaboard boaters. Please come to this meeting, especially if you regularly moor your boat in the Long Pound.

Boater proposes innovative solution at Alton PC meeting

Following news of Alton Parish Council’s aim to prevent boats mooring between the Barge Inn and Honey Street bridge, boaters were invited by parish council representatives to discuss their concerns. Three boaters met with the members of the parish council before its meeting on 14 March.
