As part of the K&A Interim 12-month Local Plan, a review of visitor moorings between Bath and Devizes was carried out in February and March 2015. The review recommended a number of changes to the location and length of visitor moorings.

Visitor moorings to become 14 days in winter

CRT has released information about its new visitor mooring framework which confirms that most visitor moorings will revert to 14 days between 1st November and 31st March, unless there are strong reasons against this.

Liveaboards secure representation in Bath – Devizes visitor mooring review

One of the actions in the K&A Interim 12-month Local Plan is a review of visitor moorings between Bath and Devizes. Liveaboard boaters without home moorings were informed that this review is taking place between January and March 2015, but were not invited to take part.

What to do if CRT tell you that you have incurred a £25 extended stay “charge”

A number of boaters have received letters from CRT alleging that they have overstayed on Visitor Moorings and either demanding £25 per day “extended stay charge” or stating that CRT could have imposed a charge of £25 per day but it was waived it in this instance as the Local Plan has not been in place for very long. We recommend that anyone who receives one of these letters makes a formal complaint.

Sally Ash, the unpopular Head of Boating, finally retires at the end of this month after 38 years working for BW and CRT. She joined BW as a researcher in 1976 following a Masters degree at Reading University. Here we take a look back at some of her activities and the cost of her career both to boaters and to her employers, not only in financial terms but also in goodwill, time and effort.

CRT advisory group recommends fewer visitor moorings
