Wiltshire Police bring project Kraken to the K&A

Project Kraken is the UK-wide Police operation that targets boat-related crime. It operates on all the UK’s inland waterways and on the coast. In London, Project Kraken dealt with the epidemic of boat burglaries and attacks on boaters and other towpath users a few years ago. On 1st December 2016 Wiltshire Police joined the operation, targeting crime on the K&A up to the border with Thames Valley Police.

Project Kraken includes crime prevention information for boaters and community messaging to publicise incidents, but it doesn’t include noise nuisance, which should be reported to the relevant local Council. You can call the Police on 101, or if a crime is being committed dial 999. The Community Messaging website can be found here: https://www.wiltsmessaging.co.uk/ where you can sign up to receive automated messages and alerts as they are raised.
