New community coal boat Bath to Foxhangers

Due to a clear need in the community on the west end of the K&A, Bradford Wharf Services (BWS) and Floaty Boat are teaming up to run a coal boat between Bath and Foxhangers this winter. They will be using Ishtar, a boat built by BWS in 2007.

This is a not for profit service for the community and any profit made will be donated to Floaty Boat for other community projects. The plan is to deliver every Wednesday, one week from Bradford Wharf to Bath and the next week from Bradford Wharf to Foxhangers so deliveries will happen fortnightly. The next run will be to Bath on Wednesday 20th and Thursday 21st December. The run to Foxhangers will be in the first week of January.

You can order coal and wood from the website here https://bradfordwharf.co.uk/coal-boat/. If orders are requested en route they would prefer cash but they can invoice you afterwards.

The coal boat may require some volunteers to help with runs, if this is something you might be interested in please send BWS a message via bradfordwharf@gmail.com

The coal boat sells coal, logs and kindling. It is not a gas merchant but if you are desperate you can phone Oxfordshire Narrowboats on 01225 863987 and pay for a bottle over the phone, the coal boat can deliver for a fee. There is also an option to donate to ‘Pay it Forward’ on the website if you are in a position to help somebody else.
