Please come to Wilcot Parish Council meeting 9th Jan to object to removal of parking by canal

It has been suggested by Wiltshire Councillor Paul Oatway that boaters should attend the Wilcot Parish Council meeting at 7pm on 9th January 2024 to demand that the recent obstruction of parking in Wilcot is reversed and the lane beside the K&A canal is cleared of the rubble and earth that is obstructing parking.

Councillor Oatway, whose ward includes Wilcot, informed a boater who attended the highways meeting in Pewsey on 27th November 2023 that he did not agree with the removal of parking in the lane. Boaters are now forced to park in the main village street if they need to moor in Wilcot and have a vehicle. This is a potential road safety hazard.

The Parish Council meeting at 7pm on 9th January 2024 takes place in Wilcot Village Hall, by the cricket pitch and opposite the green. Members of the public are entitled to speak at the meeting as long as they limit this to 3 minutes.
