Well, Lime Mortar Training Course actually. BW is running a training course in Lime Mortar techniques for Kennet and Avon Canal Trust Working Party Volunteers. There are 12 places. The course will be held in Bradford on Avon on Monday 22 August at 9am.
The Trust has a number of projects requiring Lime Mortaring techniques, including the Tithe Barn wall, Victory Field wall and the ramp adjacent to the canal bridge by Bradford lock. Volunteers need to have completed the course in order to be permitted by BW to carry out any lime mortaring work on these listed structures. If you are interested in learning about the restoration of heritage structures with the appropriate materials and techniques please contact Derrick Hunt on 01225 863066 to book a place. You don’t have to be a member of the Trust to be a volunteer but it helps the Trust if you do join.
The Trust’s next working party at Bradford lock will be on Sunday 7 August starting between 9 and 10am.
