CRT to re-brand as ‘wellbeing’ organisation

CRT is currently attempting to re-brand itself as an organisation promoting well-being. The purpose of the re-branding is to raise funds from local authorities and the NHS for the promotion of health and well-being of the general population. However CRT appears to have no intention of safeguarding the well-being of boat dwellers, even vulnerable ones.

K&A will not be split in CRT restructuring

CRT announced in the last few days that the K&A will not be split between two regions in the charity’s ongoing restructuring, as was originally proposed. The waterway will be incorporated as a whole into the new Wales and South West Region.

Review of visitor moorings east of Devizes

CRT is currently carrying out a review of the visitor moorings between Devizes and Reading in a consultation exercise in which most of the user groups of the K&A are represented. Five meetings were held between August 2017 and March 2018. Proposals for any changes are due to be finalised this month, April 2018, and trialled for 12 months. During the trial, all boaters will have an opportunity to comment on the changes.

Outreach boat and Health Visitor at Bathampton Wharf, 3rd April

The Boaters’ Cafe Club outreach boat Litania will be at Bathampton Wharf on Tuesday 3rd April from 12 noon to 4pm. The Health Visitor for travelling communities will be on board.
