The River Kennet Navigation between Kintbury and Reading was re-opened to navigation on 4th April. However the flows are still strong and CRT have advised boaters to take extra care. There is a gravel bar below Woolhampton lock and a submerged tree trunk below Sulhamstead lock. There is also a low pound due to a breach above Garston lock where CRT have lowered the water levels and shored up the bank with sandbags. County lock is no longer under water, but the stretch downstream through the Oracle still has extremely strong flows and navigation is not recommended.
