The Canal and River Trust is holding its first Annual Meeting in Birmingham on Thursday 27th September 2012 at 2pm – 4pm. All customers of the Canal and River Trust, boat licence holders and users of the waterways can attend. To book your place, email annual.meeting@canalrivertrust.org.uk by 20th September and give the details requested below. You don’t have to be a representative of an organisation. Places may be limited because of the size of the venue; if you turn up without booking a place, there will probably be space for you, but that’s not certain.
This year’s meeting will be an opportunity to tell the CRT Trustees and Council what you think of the CRT’s continuation of BW’s attack on boaters without home moorings and its refusal to withdraw derogatory statements about us. It will be a chance to say what you think about the IWA’s dominance on the CRT Council and the IWA’s declaration of war on itinerant liveaboard boaters. You could also have your say on the proposals to change the definition of “Houseboat” which could potentially erode the hard-won rights of both Houseboat Certificate holders and boaters without home moorings.
