The Julian House Travelling Communities Support Service will be running a monthly outreach boat with the Canal Ministries narrowboat Litania on the western K&A. STOP PRESS: ON TUESDAY 7TH MARCH THE OUTREACH BOAT WILL BE AT BATHAMPTON WHARF
Starting on March 7th, and then on the first Tuesday of every month, Litania will be out on the canal in easily accessible locations. It will offer the Boaters’ Cafe Club; a drop-in space with free tea, coffee, cake, hot soups and stews, information and internet access, support and advice.
The service will also offer health checks with community nurses; access to a dental nurse; stop smoking and healthy eating workshops; emergency First Aid training, and other beneficial sessions if requested.
Other workshops and activities that they could offer include mental health and wellbeing sessions such as crafts, knitting, painting, traditional canal art, music or singing. Each month there will be different support and health services on hand, always including hot food and informal support. The Canal Ministries team will also be there to give support and help as well as food parcels for those who need them.
Please tell Sam or Lindsay at the Travelling Communities Support Service what you would like and play a part in shaping it. Tailored Drop in groups can be held on separate days, even at weekends. You can contact them on 07960 097719 or email samw@julianhouse.org.uk or lindsayh@julianhouse.org.uk
