Boaters have launched an appeal to raise money to repair singer Angel Nash’s boat after it sank on 15th August after very heavy overnight rain, while she was asleep on board.
Angel managed to get off the boat with her dog and cat, but she has lost everything and the boat needs extensive repairs and refitting. Please give generously to the GoFundMe appeal which aims to raise £20,000. See https://www.gofundme.com/f/refloat-angel039s-boat?
The money raised will go towards welding and refitting the boat; replacing personal possessions such as clothes, kitchenware and bedding; and replacing her guitar, amplifier and microphone.
The liveaboard community rallied round and boaters worked tirelessly over two days to refloat the boat near Avoncliff, using the community-owned emergency pump and a bigger hired pump, plus sandbags, tarpaulins and timber to keep the water out. Both pumps had been funded by the Floaty Boat Fund, set up last year to help liveaboard boaters whose homes are in danger of sinking. The community pump is kept at Bradford dry dock.
