It will be Christmas party time for boaters of all ages on 14th December 2018. The Floaty Boat Fund is to be launched with a Christmas Party at 7pm-midnight at St Margaret’s Hall, Bradford on Avon BA15 1DE.
Get into the groove with The Langan Band Duo, Devils Doorbell, Fly Yeti Fly and DJ Paul Freedom, along with your hosts Jassy and Ted. Suggested donation £5.00. There will be a bar and all proceeds will go to the new Floaty Boat Fund. Support this great cause for our community!
The Floaty Boat Fund aims to raise around £30,000 to enable the liveaboard boating community to repair boats that are in immediate danger of sinking. The move follows requests from individual boating community members for financial support due to hardship.
The new fund is supported by Wiltshire Council’s Bradford on Avon area board, together with The Hub in Bradford on Avon and local churches. The Hub in Church Street also provides food parcels, hot lunches, and a debt advice service to the public including boat dwellers.
The Floaty Boat Fund hopes to build on the success of the K&A Floating Market, by supporting boaters to help themselves through developing entrepreneurship. It will be run for boaters, by boaters and funders, with the aim of supporting our community on matters of wellbeing and hardship. Contact floatyboatfund@gmail.com
