Whilst it has not yet been possible to set up dedicated support for liveaboard boaters on the eastern K&A during the coronavirus lockdown, there are some land based community support groups in that operate from Great Bedwyn eastwards.
In the Bedwyn area, the Bedwyn Support Group says:
“If you need any assistance over the coming weeks or know someone who may need help with either shopping, picking up a prescription or just a friendly call there are 4 different ways to ask:-
• Complete our easy online request form www.bedwyn.uk
• Call the Bedwyn Link Scheme number 07717 006787
• Contact Bedwyn Parish Volunteers and support group on Facebook
• Or email us on Bedwynlinkscheme@outlook.com
We are here to help.”
From Hungerford eastwards, West Berkshire Council have a Community Support Hub which you can contact if you need help. The hub will put you in touch with the closest assistance scheme. The hub is open seven days a week, 8:30am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8:30am to 4:30pm Friday to Sunday and Bank Holidays. Phone 01635 503579 or email westberksbct@westberks.gov.uk
If you have any problems accessing these services, please call or text Rowan, who is one of the K&A liveaboard community support co-ordinators, on 07414 022961.
