CRT is currently running an online-only consultation on the shared use of towpaths. It has published a proposed code of conduct for sharing towpaths. This code refers to cyclists, pedestrians, anglers and dog walkers, but it fails to make any reference to the use of towpaths by boaters for navigation and mooring. You can download the code here CRT Sharing Towpaths
If you have views about the safety of towpath users around manoeuvring boats or beside locks; whether use for navigation and mooring should have priority, or about the safety of boaters and their children around speeding cyclists and dog poo, you can respond to the consultation here
