It has emerged that Enforcement Supervisor Russell Bennett left his job after a complaint about him was made by a female member of staff. Mr Bennett was advised by his solicitor that the complaint of sexual harassment would result in his dismissal and that his best course of action would be to leave and get another job while he still had a clean disciplinary record. This explains why CRT Enforcement Operations Manager Paul Griffin stated in an email to this web site that “Russell Bennett…has been a member of my team for the past eight years and left under his own accord for a job elsewhere…Please remove any suggestion that his employment was terminated – it most certainly was not”. Mr Griffin did not deny that Russell Bennett had been guilty of inappropriate sexual behaviour towards a female employee. At least one female liveaboard boater has also been the victim of Bennett’s inappropriate behaviour. Mr Bennett is now a manager in a Devizes supermarket.
