Health survey under way – please take part

The first ever survey of liveaboard boaters’ health needs has begun in Bath and NE Somerset. It is being carried out for the NHS, and it’s your chance to have your say about how health services need to be changed to make them easier for boaters to get access to. Three boaters will be doing the interviews; they have all had training to carry out the survey. The interviews take about 45 minutes. The survey ends on 30th November.

If you want to be interviewed, please ring or text 07928 078208  or email info@boatingcommunity.org.uk. It’s totally confidential, you can choose an interviewer of the same sex, and you don’t have to give your name.

The survey needs to interview a range of boaters of different ages and family situations, who spend a fair amount of time moored between Dundas and Hanham, both with and without a permanent mooring.  Please pass this message on to your friends, and please tell your neighbours about the survey.

The survey is being carried out for the NHS in BaNES and North Somerset by Buckinghamshire New University’s Institute for Diversity Research. There is more information about the survey in an article by the co-ordinator Margaret Greenfields here
