Seend Parish Council has invited the liveaboard boating community to comment on its draft neighbourhood plan. The Plan includes a section on the Kennet and Avon Canal (Policy SP7, Section 5.2, page 36). The deadline for comments is 28th March 2020.
We draw your attention to two points that stood out for us in the plan. First, although the plan says a lot about the canal and mentions boater facilities, it does not acknowledge the existence of the liveaboard boating community nor does it consider the liveaboard community as temporary residents of Seend. Secondly, the plan alerts us to the possible construction of the A350 Melksham bypass, which could have a detrimental effect on the Kennet and Avon Canal (see page 29). You may also have other comments for instance about the lack of vehicle parking in Seend.
