A new bypass for Melksham has been proposed that will completely destroy the countryside in the Seend valley and have a highly detrimental impact on the K&A canal environment. Please send your objections to MajorHighwaysProjects@wiltshire.gov.uk or write to Peter Binley, Head of Major Highway Projects, Wiltshire Council, Trowbridge, Wiltshire, BA14 8JN or complete the online response form here

Seend residents and the Parish Council are opposed to this, this is an issue where they deserve the support of boaters to prevent the destruction of this beautiful valley. Wiltshire Council has published a video that shows the proposed route of the A350 Melksham bypass, along with three different variations at the north end of the road. See https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4rkxMDV7Ug, which shows just how much of the landscape will vanish once this road is built. CRT has objected to the plans.
