First ever nationwide liveaboard boater health survey

Friends, Families and Travellers (FFT) are carrying out a health survey of liveaboard boaters as part of their campaign to end discrimination in health services. This is the first nationwide health survey of the liveaboard boating community.

Support from BaNES Council: more liveaboard boaters needed to help build on a positive start

Boater Sam Worrall, who works for Julian House Travelling Communities Support Service, spoke at the BaNES council meeting on 15th September 2016 to explain the adverse effects of CRT’s unlawful enforcement against liveaboard boaters and the lack of facilities along the canal and River Avon. She asked the Council to recognise, support and consider liveaboard boaters in its policy and planning.

K&A liveaboard boater appointed to CRT advisory group

Sam Worrall, a liveaboard boater without a home mooring on the K&A, has been appointed to CRT’s Navigation Advisory Group (NAG) Licensing and Moorings Sub-Group. Sam is one of Julian House’s two Gypsy, Traveller Boater and Roma Outreach and Engagement Officers.
