CHANGE OF PLAN FOR Protest and engagement against the surcharge, 27th January, Dun Mill Lock, Hungerford

WE HAVE CHANGED THE PLAN FOR SATURDAY 27TH JANUARY, AS CRT HAS CANCELLED THE OPEN DAY…….

WE WILL MEET AT DUN MILL LOCK AT 10.30AM AND WALK UP THE TOWPATH TO HUNGERFORD TOWN CENTRE. WE WILL LEAFLET THE PUBLIC ON THE PEDESTRIAN BRIDGE OVER THE CANAL AND UNDER THE BRIDGE.

THEN WE WILL GO TO THE PUB AND DISCUSS MORE ACTIONS AGAINST CRT’S UNJUST SURCHARGE!!

Protest and engagement against the surcharge, 27th January, meet at Dun Mill Lock at 10.30am. Join us to protest against the surcharge on boats without a home mooring and engage with the public to get their support!

Join us to leaflet the public to explain how CRT is unfairly targeting boaters without a home mooring and why the surcharge is unjust. We need people to hand out leaflets, talk to members of the public, and hold banners and placards.

Meet us on the towpath at Dun Mill Lock (on the uphill / Hungerford side) at 10.30am, due to the change of plan we will then walk to Hungerford town centre and leaflet the public on the pedestrian bridge over the canal and under the bridge.

There should be free parking at Grid Ref 51.411446, -1.496187 but there may be a 1.6 metre height barrier. There is more parking on Hungerford Common where the Hungerford to Kintbury road meets the Inkpen road, Grid Ref 51.411446, -1.496187 and also a bit further towards Kintbury on the verge of the Hungerford to Kintbury road at Grid Ref 51.411446, -1.496187. Dun Mill Lock is around 20 minutes walk east down the towpath from Hungerford station on the Reading to Westbury line. There isn’t much free parking in the town centre but the station is 5-10 minutes walk from the canal bridge. You may be able to park in Tesco’s.

If you want more information about the protest or to let us know you are coming, please contact info@boatingcommunity.org.uk or phone 07928 078208. Or just turn up!
