Data checker becomes enforcement officer as CRT resumes weekly boat checks

CRT has appointed Licensing Officer/ Data Checker Matthew Preston as the second Enforcement Officer on the K&A. This is despite Mr Preston’s claims to boaters that he just wanted a quiet life and aimed to do his job without any confrontation. He started his new role at the beginning of this month. Mr Preston replaces Geoff Walters, who died in September 2013. A new Licensing Officer/ Data Checker has been appointed to replace Mr Preston.

Since the beginning of 2014 boat checks had been carried out every two weeks. Now we understand that these are weekly again. We hope that weekly boat checks will lead to increased accuracy in CRT’s analysis of boat movements and that fewer boaters will receive enforcement notices with inaccurate allegations about their boat movements.
