The research group that carried out the boaters and travellers health survey in 2012-2013 is holding a half day seminar on March 12th that includes a study of liveaboard boaters.
The Institue for Diversity Research, Inclusivity, Communities and Society (IDRICS) is holding
a symposium entitled ‘Moving Stories: Migrant Communities in transit’ led by Professor
Margaret Greenfields, who co-ordinated the health survey.
Guest speakers include liveaboard boater Dr HollyGale Millette, who will discuss her research ‘A 3,000 Linear Village – Britain’s Water Gypsies: Temporal Lives and Communities on the Cut’.
The symposium is at Buckinghamshire New University’s High Wycombe Campus on Wednesday 12th March at 1.00-5.00pm in Room N3.08. All are welcome to attend. The event is free of charge. It is part of the university’s Talking Ideas series of seminars.
