Spate of boat burglaries on K&A

In the week to 22nd April 2016 at least five boats on the K&A, at Pewsey and Hilperton, have been broken into. The modus operandi of the thief is very similar to that of Allan Campbell who was jailed in 2013 for a series of boat burglaries on the K&A and elsewhere.

Boat Burglary? Victim Support can provide security equipment at low cost

A boater who works for the charity Victim Support has informed us that people whose boats have been burgled can apply to Victim Support for cheap (sometimes free of charge) security equipment. This includes padlocks, bolts and personal security devices. If your boat was burgled and you need new locks or other support, contact Victim Support on 0117 947 3065.

Allan Campbell, yesterday given four and a half years for this year’s boat break ins

Allan Campbell,  who broke into numerous  boats  has been jailed for four years.

The 39 year old Campbell smashed doors and windows on narrow boats along the Kennet and Avon Canal across Wiltshire.  He was arrested after a nationwide hunt and is now in prison after admitting a string of burglaries.
