Salem to quit CRT in 2015

Simon Salem, CRT’s Marketing Director, is to leave CRT in June next year, it was announced on Friday. The announcement comes only 5 months after CRT publicised plans to restructure its management teams, a re-organisation that appeared to leave Mr Salem with very little to do.

CRT restructuring leaves Salem out of the loop

Just before the retirement of Sally Ash, CRT announced on 24th June that it is to create a new post of Head of Customer Service, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Richard Parry. The new post will be responsible for leisure boating, licensing and enforcement as well as other customer service changes. This strips Marketing Director Simon Salem of much of his role.

Petition reaches 5000 but CRT reneges on personal scrutiny of enforcement cases by Chief Executive

A boat dweller who is facing court action by CRT was told that Richard Parry will not personally scrutinise every decision to take boat dwellers to court, whether against sick boaters or otherwise, according to a petition on the 38 degrees web site. This is in direct contradiction to the discussion between a K&A boater and Mr Parry.

CRT press release signals continued attack on boaters without home moorings

Just hours before the K and A  Local Waterway Partnership (LWP) was due to hold its first moorings sub-group meeting to review the local mooring strategy proposals, CRT issued a press release detailing its plans to continue eroding the rights of CRT licence holders to use the waterways without a home mooring under Section 17 3 c ii of the 1995 British Waterways Act.
