The next meeting of the K&A Boaters’ Action Group will be on Monday 11th December 2017 at 7.30pm in the Canal Tavern, 49 Frome Rd, Bradford on Avon BA15 1LE. We will have lots of paper copies of the CRT Boat Licence Review questionnaire so that anyone who hasn’t responded yet can fill one in. The consultation closes on 18th December so it’s your last chance to get your views in. CRT is proposing to increase the cost of a boat licence without a home mooring, so it’s really important that the views of boaters without a home mooring are represented in this consultation.

As part of a joint community arts project focusing on mental health, well-being and mindfulness, Julian House Travelling Communities Support Service is holding a number of craft workshops for liveaboard boaters who need support with these issues.

Paper questionnaires should be posted to “Freepost TONIC” (you do not need to use a stamp). The deadline for both paper and online responses is midnight on Monday 18th December 2017.

There will be a Boat Fire Safety presentation at the Black Horse, Bath Rd, Devizes SN10 2AU (between locks 47 and 48), on Monday 13th November 2017 at 7.30pm. There will also be one in the Bath area later this winter, the date is to be confirmed.

The Boaters’ Cafe Club outreach boat will be at Dundas basin next Tuesday 7th November 2017 from 12 noon to 4pm. The main attraction is a spoken word and poetry workshop with Dru Marland. The workshop is aimed at boaters who would like support with wellbeing and mindfulness. The loose theme of the workshop will be “outsiders”.
