Tuesday, November 11th, 2014Julian House in Bath is recruiting two part-time Outreach and Engagement Workers to improve access to health and social care for Gypsies, Travellers and Boat Dwellers. The closing date is 21st November. This is a new project, funded by the NHS in BaNES, that is the result of the 2012 health survey of boaters and travellers that some boaters took part in. Thursday, February 13th, 2014Later this year, the National Health Service (NHS) plans to start selling patient information to drug and insurance companies. This month NHS England is sending a leaflet entitled ‘Better Information Means Better Care’ to 26 million households explaining that data will be shared with researchers and organisations outside the NHS – unless you choose to opt out by writing to your GP. Needless to say, most boat dwellers will not get this leaflet.
