Julian House has a vacancy for a Gypsy, Roma, Traveller & Boater Outreach and Engagement Worker for Bath and North East Somerset. The part-time job covers BaNES for Roadside Travelling Community Welfare Support, and Keynsham to Dundas on the water. There is no fixed deadline to apply, Julian House recommends submitting applications as soon as possible so as not to miss out.

Covid-19 vaccination clinics by boat tomorrow Bradford on Avon and Thursday Bathampton

Julian House will again be providing Covid-19 vaccination clinics on nb Litania on Tuesday 15th March and Thursday 17th March 2022. You can get a first jab, second jab or a booster jab if you are eligible. You can just turn up. You do not need to be registered with a GP to get the jab. Please be aware that as this is a first come,first served clinic, there is a possibility that vaccinations might not be available. If you decide to get vaccinated after the floating clinics have finished, contact the NHS on 119.

If you’re over 70 and have not been invited for a Covid-19 jab, contact NHS now!

By mid-February 2021 the Government aimed to have all over-70s and people classed as clinically extremely vulnerable given their first of two vaccinations against Covid-19, but told people they should wait to be invited for their appointment. Now, the NHS wants anyone over 70 or clinically extremely vulnerable who has not had their first jab to contact them to get vaccinated.

Coronavirus vaccinations – make sure of your jab by registering with a GP

The invitations to attend Coronavirus vaccination appointments for priority groups, which will include everyone over the age of 50, are being generated from the patient records held by doctors’ surgeries. Liveaboard boaters who are not registered with a GP may find that they are not contacted by the NHS with an invitation to have the Covid-19 vaccination.

Grants to help boater children with online education

Julian House Travelling Communities Support Service can help families apply for funding to buy tablets, smart phones and data if their children need these to access online education while schools are closed during the current Covid-19 lockdown.

Boat movement suspended again in lockdown that could last until March 2021

Wednesday, January 6th, 2021

Following the Government’s announcement on 4th January 2021 of a national Covid-19 lockdown in England, CRT has suspended enforcement of the 14-day rule. The Regulations governing the lockdown are in force until 31st March 2021, although the lockdown may be lifted before then.

Julian House to provide Covid-19 tests for people with no address and no transport

The Julian House Travelling Communities Support Service is now able to provide Covid-19 tests for liveaboard boaters without transport AND without an address. Up to now, there was no provision of tests to people who could not drive to a drive-in test site or get one sent to them by post.
