In the early morning of Sunday 4th December, Phil’s boat caught fire and was completely gutted. Luckily with help from a brave friend, Phil and his cat got out with minor injuries only. The Floaty Boat Fund has started an appeal to help Phil get back on his feet. His boat was not comprehensively insured, only third party, so it will not be replaced by insurance. It was Phil’s idea to set up the Floaty Boat Fund in the first place. The fire was put out by Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service. Please give generously here:

Please complete the CRT census! Why? Because it is a chance to set out to CRT any issues you have faced due to being a liveaboard boater and – importantly – to highlight where CRT’s enforcement policy, especially the 20 mile range requirement, interferes with basic parts of life such as putting children through school, getting and keeping a job or caring for an elderly or disabled relative. If enough people use the census to tell CRT of their experiences then this will create a powerful platform to lobby CRT for change.
