Julian House in Bath is recruiting two part-time Outreach and Engagement Workers to improve access to health and social care for Gypsies, Travellers and Boat Dwellers. The closing date is 21st November. This is a new project, funded by the NHS in BaNES, that is the result of the 2012 health survey of boaters and travellers that some boaters took part in. BaNES Council has recently published the Phone book for gypsy and travelling families living in Bath and North East Somerset. The handbook contains information about health, education and other services that liveaboard boaters may need to use. You can download the handbook here

If you are registered with a GP at the Health Centre, Station Approach, Bradford on Avon, make sure you inform the surgery that you live on a boat. The Health Centre welcomes liveaboard boaters as patients, whether or not you have a mooring.
