There will be a family-friendly festive get together for boaters on Saturday 12th December, 3pm-9pm, at the Love Lounge, The Bell Inn, Walcot Street, Bath BA1 5BW. The event will include children’s activities, music, information and discussion about what to do if CRT has refused to renew your boat licence for 12 months. There will be time to socialise and sing a few sea shanties too.

The election for the CRT Council is under way. Polling opened on 13th November and ends on 11th December at midnight. There are two candidates who are liveaboard boaters without home moorings who we believe will support our interests.

CRT today (19th November) seized boaters’ property from the towpath between Bath and Dundas including bicycles, bike trailers and dog bowls despite assurances that moveable objects in daily use that were temporarily left on the towpath would not be taken. We understand that the seizure of property will continue between Dundas and Bradford on Avon tomorrow (20th November) and beyond.

CRT closed the Caen Hill flight until further notice on 30th October after engineers reported that the condition of the towpath and embankment had deteriorated further after the towpath between locks 48 and 49 was washed away.
