Towpath washed away at Caen Hill

Dredging on K&A planned for 2015: report all obstructions

For most of this year boaters have been advised not to moor between Elbow Bridge (174) and Limpley Stoke Bridge (175) due to the risk of falling trees. CRT will be felling trees on this stretch starting in October.

Firewood available

There’s a pile of wood left over from a house renovation on the towpath near Limpley Stoke. It needs to be cleared so please take it for firewood! It’s in the wooded stretch between Limpley Stoke bridge and Sunset Strip.

Stopping leaks

A boater sent us these photos of the work at between Whaddon and Hilperton to repair three holes in the bed of the canal. Many boats have been trapped. The stoppage is planned to end on 1st  or 2nd June. Water levels may fluctuate overnight on 29th May as BW test for watertightness between Bradford and Semington locks. In summer 2011 there was a breach between Whaddon and Hilperton Marsh.
