Healthwatch Wiltshire is to run two advice sessions to help boaters get access to the healthcare they need. These will be on Friday 21st July 12pm to 4pm at the Canal Tavern, Bradford on Avon (below lock 14), and Saturday 29th July 12pm to 4pm at the Barge Inn, Honey Street. Come along if you need any advice registering yourself or your child with a GP, getting hospital treatment, and other issues.

Residents, boaters and CRT agreed last week that there was a case for making parts of Wilcot on the Long Pound a Quiet Mooring Zone. The Pewsey Canal Action Group’s second meeting on 2nd October 2014 concluded that there was no need for any 48-hour moorings in the village as there is always space for boats to moor.

Following news of Alton Parish Council’s aim to prevent boats mooring between the Barge Inn and Honey Street bridge, boaters were invited by parish council representatives to discuss their concerns. Three boaters met with the members of the parish council before its meeting on 14 March.
