Protest at CRT Devizes office 6th August

Liveaboard boaters and their supporters are invited to join a protest at Caen Hill, opposite CRT’s office in Devizes at 2.00pm on Saturday 6th August 2016 to express our opposition to CRT’s punitive and unlawful enforcement policy against boaters without home moorings. This policy has seen so many liveaboard boaters on the K&A having their licences restricted to 6 months, threatened with losing their homes, being pressured to give up their homes, and boat children’s education and welfare suffering due to the long distances they are being forced to travel to school.

Head teacher condemns CRT’s “inhumane” enforcement policy in meeting with MP

A primary school head condemned CRT’s enforcement policy against boats without home moorings as “inhumane” because of its detrimental effect on boat children, in a meeting between CRT chief Richard Parry and local MP Michelle Donelan.

Historic wooden boat seized by CRT

On Tuesday this week (7th June 2016) CRT seized Tanith from Claverton despite the fact that the boat had been sold to a new owner.

K&A boaters join national protest against CRT’s enforcement policy

Liveaboard boaters from the K&A joined demonstrations outside CRT’s headquarters in Milton Keynes on 10th May where in total about 90  boat dwellers without home moorings protested against the charity’s punitive and unlawful enforcement action against boats without a home mooring. Some 15 boaters also protested at CRT’s licensing office in Leeds.

Boaters march to protect their homes

On 16th April 2016, over 200 boat dwellers including a group from the K&A marched to Downing Street to hand in a petition against CRT’s policy that threatens boaters without a home mooring with restricted licences and ultimately eviction from CRT waterways.

Meeting for boaters on ‘restricted’ licences, 12th April, Avoncliff

There will be a meeting on Tuesday 12th April, 7pm to 9pm, at the Cross Guns, Avoncliff BA15 2HB for all boaters without home moorings who have been put onto 3 or 6 month ‘restricted’ licences by CRT and for those who have been threatened with restriction or non-renewal of their licence.

Second meeting for boaters on ‘restricted’ licences, 29th March, Avoncliff
